 Tiffany Quay Tyson

Tiffany Quay Tyson’s novels have been compared to southern literary titans such as Flannery O’Connor and Dorothy Allison. Published in 2018, The Past is Never was selected by the Southern Independent Booksellers Alliance as an ‘Okra Pick’, and, was awarded the 2019 Mississippi Institute of Arts and Letters Award for Fiction. Her debut novel, Three Rivers, was a finalist for both the Colorado Book Award for Literary Fiction and the Mississippi Institute of Arts and Letters Award for Fiction.  Her short fiction and humor pieces have been published in SmokeLong Quarterly, The Rumpus, The Belladonna Comedy, and more.

Tiffany was born and raised in Jackson, Mississippi. She is a graduate of Delta State University. After college she worked for a brief stint as a newspaper reporter in the Mississippi Delta, where she received the Frank Allen Award for Journalism. She is the recipient of two Heartland Emmy Awards including one for writing for a children’s public television program.

She is a faculty member at Lighthouse Writers Workshop and the Lighthouse Young Writers Program. She lives in Denver.

The Rocky Mountain Literary Festival is an annual gathering of authors and readers to provide

scholarships for local high school seniors in pursuit of their educational dreams.
